Visitor's Gallery - Brian Beard's 1975 Mach 1

Owner:  Brian Beard
Year:  1975
Make:  Mach 1
History:   I purchased the car in 1990 and slowly have been restoring/modifying it. The previous owner had made poor modifications to the engine and changed the transmission to a "non"- Mustang II C4. The bell housing rested against the fire wall. I was lucky if I could drive 5 miles without over heating and distributing my engine coolant all over the Northeast Ohio roadways!!!! So we decided to rebuild the engine and find a '75-'78 Mustang II C4 transmission.

Some of the engine modifications include:
* 302 CID Bored 0.060 Over w/ Forged Pistons
* ARP Engine Fasteners
* Performer Intake
* Summit Cam/Lifter Package
* Heads Gasket Matched and Polished
* Holley 650 Dbl Pumper
* Ford Motorsport Windage Tray
* MSD 6AL Ignition
* Headers
* Flowmaster Mufflers (12") with Turndowns @ Outlets
* C4 Transmission Rebuilt/Modified by Rossler Transmission

It runs a respectable 14.53 in the 1/4 mile on pump gas with a 3.00:1 Non-locking rear end. (Traction is poor) I am in the process of converting the rear end to a 3.55:1 Traction-Loc. I am hoping to achieve a low 14/high 13 second pass with this modification, MSD distributor and some racing fuel.

A few other facts:
* 73.5K actual miles
* The interior and exterior are mostly original except for:
* Factory 13" aluminum rims with NOS center caps
* Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel taken form a later Mustang II
* Center Console with Chrome Shifter Handle, taken form a later Mustang II
* Autometer Water Temperature and Oil Pressure Gauges to Supplement the Factor Gauges/Sensor
* It hasn't seen rain or snow in 14 years
