I bought the car in 1993 and it was originally a V6 stick shift car. In 1998 I took the drive train out of a 1977 Mach 1 and put it into my car. It now has a 302 V8 with a mild cam and a C4 automatic with a shift kit. I also put in a new radiator, starter, alternator, MSD coil, black crinkle finish Cobra valve covers, Ford Motorsport wires, new plugs, new Hedman headers and a custom bent 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust with 3 inch stainless steel pipes from the rear axle back. The exhaust also features glass pack mufflers under the rear seat instead of next to the gas tank. It has 14 x 7 inch American Racing lacey spoke styled wheels with 215/60s up front and 235/60s on the rear wheels.
The body is very clean and unrestored with no rust. It does have a few dents and dings in it which it came with. I hope to paint it one day when my youngest of 4 children who is 14 graduates from college.
I originally had a 1976 that was blue with white stripes. That Cobra was my daily driver and was begining to show the ravages of many Cleveland Winters when I sold it in 1982. This one as you can tell is a keeper, going on 14 years of ownership. I belong to a Mustang II club in the Cleveland, Ohio area and we regularly have atleast 4 or 5 IIs at our local cruises. Sometimes 6 to 8 IIs show up.
