Car of the Month - December 2006
Anita Bradshaw's 1974 2+2

My Mustang came to me as a gift from my father. A gentleman he knew had purchased the car 4-5 years prior as a project for his grandson. My pony was truly a sad little horse. She hadn't ran in 4-5 years, the interior was toast (covered in some sort of fiberglass spray coating) very little salvageable there, the rear hatch was basically non-existent and the driver side quarter panel was pushed in about 6-8 inches from a hit.

The first thing was to get her little 2.3 humming again, that wasn't much of an effort, new battery, change the fluids, little carb cleaner...and she fired right up! The interior was a real challenge, but with lots of help from the wonderful people here on this site and of course ebay, the interior began to come to life.

The next step was to address the body issues. The first thing she got was a new hatch, and then I began to beat and bang out that crumpled quarter panel. I learned a lot about body work and patience and even managed to create a few new cuss words by combining them!

But after 18 months or so, my car has gone from an "Ugly Duckling" to a real "Swan"...she turns heads everywhere I go, I get lots of looks, questions and positive feedback I am truly proud to be a part of this car's life!

I know that those of you here on the best site on the web have seen my car come to life through the past months and I just want to say "I so appreciate each and everyone of you", my project was definitely a team effort!
