Hey, my name is Jeff Hart and I am the proud, 3rd owner, 2nd family of my 1975 Mustang II Ghia. I started saving for this car right after my 16th birthday. Finally bought it when I got my license in June of 2004 for a remarkable price of $2300.
At the time I bought it, it was all original with only 67,977 miles, working 8 track player, AC/PS/PB. Original hub caps, which I still have but took mom’s 77 Mustang II’s original lacy spokes and mounted a set of Mastercraft Avenger GT P205/60R13. The body has a faded Tan Metallic paint job, but that’s common for it to be 30 years old.
The body is in good shape as is the interior, original Tan Shag carpet, with little sun damage on the dash and a minor crack in the rear passenger arm rest. It has the original 302 engine with C4 transmission. Besides regular tune-up and oil changes the only maintenance we have had to do is add a Holley 500 2bbl carb, water pump, and battery.
For X-mas of 2004 I received a CD/MP3 player and placed it under the glove compartment. Leaving the 8 track player intact for original appearance. Took out original door speakers and placed 6” Eclipse 3-way, and placed 2 3.5” Kenwood tweeters in the dash. With being 17 and such little SYSTEM, I have hopes of adding SUBS at a later date.
One of the drawbacks I have found in owing my car is the criticism I get from the kids my age is the paint job and the lack of horsepower but yet my dad’s 77 has a slightly modified 302 and a nice blue paint job and they think its awesome. But at the same time I get compliments from those who know what they are looking at or the ones that think it’s cool.
In the late to near future I would like to add a new paint job and possibly a new engine. Keeping the 8 track just because you never see them, especially not in a teenager's car.
