I bought this car brand new on October 8, 1975 - my first ever brand new car, and my 4th Mustang. This was my primary transportation during my 21-year career in the U.S. Navy, and has finally been retired from full-time active duty to its new role as "play car".
The car now has 336,200 miles on it, still has the original 2.3L engine, and still get 35 MPG while using no oil between changes (...every 5,000 miles). My '76 Mustang is certainly atypical of the crap Detroit was producing back in the mid-70's.
These photos were taken earlier this year at Ft. Desoto Park in southern Pinellas Co., Florida. The bridge in the background is the Sunshine Skyway that crosses the mouth of Tampa Bay.
