MUSTANG II
Fun and flair
Mustang II has a brand new option for those who like the fun of a convertible and a hardtop - a T-roof that has easily removable dual roof panels of tinted, tempered glass. The panels fit into a special pouch that can be stored in the luggage compartment.
The T-Roof Convertible is available on Mustang II three-door models - the 2+2, the Mach 1, and with the popular Cobra II package.
The dual glass panels are specially treated to screen out most of the sun's rays. One or both can be removed. Recessed handles and concealed attachments secure the hatches and ensure a neat, finished interior appearance.
Mustang II comes in a total of four sporty models - two-door hardtop and Ghia, and three-door 2+2 and Mach 1. All but Mach 1 come with a standard 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission. The Mach 1's engine is a 2.8-liter V-6 (not available with California or high-altitude emissions equipment).
Functional standard features of the Mustang II include rack-and-pinion steering, turn-signal-mounted winshield wiper/washer controls, front disc brakes, tachometer and fuel/anmeter/temperature gauges and fold-down rear seat and liftgate on the 2+2 and Mach 1.
Standard appearance and comfort features include low-back bucket seats and cut-pile carpeting.
