mustang ii
MUSTANG II ..and the '65 mustang

The current standard four-cylinder overhead cam engine, wven with its exhaust emission controls, gives good performance. And although the optional 2.8 liter V-6 provides standing-start acceleration shy of that recorded for the '65 Mustang with the optional 289-c.i.d. V-8,it will still be quite impressive.

The '65 Mustang lacked such '74 standard features as front disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, staggered rear shock absorbers, front suspension sub-frame, a four-speed manual transmission and a tachometer.

A fastback-styled 1965 Mustang wasn't originally available and neither were such '74 optional features as a sun roof, an electrically heated rear window defroster, AM/FM Multiplex radio, remote control dual racing mirrors, forged aluminum wheels and steel-belted radial-ply tires.
