COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
- Air Conditioning. Mustang has a new air-conditioning system that incorporates a suction throttling valve to regulate the temperature. The previous design cycled the compressor to regulate the cooling, making an audible click as it went off and on. The suction throttling valve system keeps the compressor running constantly, and, therefore, the evaporator which cools the incoming air is always cold. This provides fast response to temperature control changes and more uniform temperature out of the instrument panel registers. Since all air passes through the evaporator, maximum dehumidification also occurs for increased passenger comfort.

- Pivoting Quarter Window. Available only on three-door models.
- Console. A special feature of Mustang's console is the soft exterior surface, providing a superior appearance and a feel of extra quality. The console includes a lockable personal effects storage compartment and a rear ashtray.
- Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel It includes a color-keyed leather wrapping around the wheel rim, sewn with a hidden stitch.
- Sun Roof. An all-steel design, the sun roof opens and closes easily with a hand crank recessed in the headlining.
- Automatic Seat Back Release.
