MUSTANG II noise, vibration and harshness

The simulator is coupled with sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and Ford's computer facilities, allowing accurate and swift definition of problems and evaluation of solutions. For example, tests of Mustang's body were conducted at simulated high speed with vibration data being fed directly into the computer for analysis. The data obtained was used by the engineers in developing the body structure to prevent possible high speed shake due to wheel disturbances. Evaluation of changes then were confirmed on the simulator.
