TWO-DOOR DESIGN The two-door model has a conventional roof with wide "C" pillar. The roof imparts more of a classic European car flavor to this model. The two-door roof line also bears a resemblance to that of the original Mustang. Like the three-door, this model features a swept-bakc windshield and full bright molding treatment surrounding all window glass. INTERIOR DESIGN The high level of product content is carried through in Mustang II's interior. Even the standard models have appointments associated with the finest of cars. Included are all-new front bucket seats, cut-pile carpeting on the floor and lower door, a tachometer, fuel, anmeter and temperature gauges, and rich simulated burled walnut woodgrain accents on the instrument panel, shift handle and parking brake. The front seats reflect features found on higher priced domestic and European cars. Seat backs are deeply coved, and the seat cushions have a U-shaped bolster that wraps around the front and sides. The driver experiences a definite feeling of being "in" and not "on" the seat. The back side of the seats is highly contoured for appearance and to permit maximum rear seat knee and leg room On all models except the Grande the seats are trimmed in Corinthian grain vinyl. The insert area of the seat cushion and back contains two narrow center pleats, surrounded by a pair of wider pleats on each side. The headrests are full-width, contoured for an integrated appearance. Rear seats are trimmed in a pattern similar to the front seats. The door trim panels feature a European-type armrest with an integral pull handle. The handle sweeps upward to naturally fit the hand position when pulling the door closed. A full soft upper wrapover adds a look of quality and a soft feel to the door trim. A bright mylar molding accents the sweeping lines of the trim style. |
