FRONT SUSPENSION

The coil spring front suspension of the Mustang II is different thatn in '73. The springs sit on the lower control arem and are anchored at the top to the suspension crossmember. This is similar to the design used on the larger Ford cars -- a configuration which reduces transfer of road shocks directly to the body structure. In addition, the springs do not intrude into engine compartment space, providing additional room for service. (In the previous Mustang suspension, the front springs were attached to the upper control arms and enclosed in the front fender apron spring towers.)
