MUSTANG II design features

A bright Mustang horse emblem is attached at top center of the trim panel.
The lower portion of the panel is trimmed with carpet which matches the cut-pile molded floor carpeting. Doorways are trimmed with an aluminum scuff plate bearing the Ford trademark emblem.
Rear quarter trim harmonizes with the door trim scheme. On all but the Grande, the trim panel is one-piece color-keyed polypropylene panel with a soft-look, stitched armrest.
Headlining is a soft cut-and-sew style, color-keyed to the interior trim.
Both the floor-mounted gearshift know and parking brake handle have a simulated burled walnut woodgrain appearance. Molded plastic boots are standard on both controls.
The luggage compartment of the standard two-door hardtop with a fixed rear seat is painted with a gray spatter paint and has a ribbed and grained rubber floor mat in a low-gloss gray color.
A fold-down rear seat is standard in the 2+2 and Mach 1, and optional in the two-door models. When the seat is folded, the entire load floor is covered with cut-pile carpeting. On two-door models, carpeting is 10.5 ounce medium gray; on three-door models, 10.5 ounce color-keyed. The load floor in the two-passenger three-door model also is 10.5 ounce color-keyed cut-pile carpeting. Trim panels on the sides and rear complete the finished appearance of the load area. The gray cut-pile carpeting is used on the two-door trim panels and molded color-keyed polypropylene on the three-door models.
